William Higgins was Brampton’s Water Commissioner from the late 1920’s until the mid-30’s when a heart attack claimed him on New Year’s Eve 1934.  He and a partner operated a business in the downtown core where they not only plied their trade, but also specialized in electric stoves.

I found this chrome-plated brass toilet roll holder under many layers of paint, screwed to the joists above the toilet  in the basement. It’s now in the upstairs bathroom, sans the roll holder.
